planet5D writer Hugh Brownstone goes rogue by downsizing even further and making the Sony a6000 his primary camera at the end of 2014. It was just a year ago that he first downsized from the Canon 5D Mk II to Rebel SL1's, but things have changed.
"It's what the Leica M8 should have been."
Irrespective of your point of view, it's a great time to reflect on the past year and to wish everyone a happy/healthy/merry 2015.
I couldn't agree more Hugh. The Sony a6000 is a wonderful camera. I have a
Nikon D4s, D750 and D700 and of all of those (and my Sony A7s)...I prefer
the a6000. In November I shot the state football championship here in Utah
and the a6000 was amazing. I had the body all of one day and had no
problems with it. The A7s...abysmal for sports of course. But the
a6000...quite capable.
Sony was smart. The a6000, I believe, was designed to be the gateway drug
into mirrorless. A cheap camera with the specs and capabilities it has
can't have been by accident. Sony is playing to win.

Great video! I shared my story with my subscribers and I was accused of
being paid by Sony to rave about this camera! In my mind... payment is NOT
required.

Is this video being shot on the A6000???

I love my a6000!!! BUT a big test of Sony's commitment to their customers
will be whether or not they update the video codec to XAVCS like the
a6000's little brother the a5100, and give some of the extra features that
the a5100 has like overlays for different movie aspect ratios so you can
frame your video easily. I truly believe that the a6000 CAN be updated, so
it will speak volumes when Sony either do or don't provide a firmware
update.

Nice video. Is the axe in the background a PRS?

Amazing set up. I've been looking into upgrading. I was torn between
alpha5100 to be able to actually view what you are recording, the alpha6000
because I love me a good camera to take good pictures but didn't find
anywhere the ability to tether to an outside monitor or use of a tablet or
upgrade my old canon dslr. You give me hope. Love the set up. You made my
mind up. Going to get the alpha 6000 with an aputure monitor. Thank heavens
for this video. Ps. Love your channel.

Hey could you recommend me some lens? What do you think about the zeiss 35
f2.8 on a6000? A nice nifty fifty?

I just want to say.
I love this video..

I agree, I always use a separate source for the audio and use the video
audio just to help syncing.
