In this Minix X8-H Plus Review that features the Amlogic S812 Quadcore CPU ill be unboxing and reviewing the main features of this Android TV Box witch at the moment of the recording is the latest model available from Minix.
I will be testing the device with Geekbench 3, Antutu 5 and a speed test with the Wifi antena and also ethernet conection.
Will perform a test on XBMC Minix Edition, XBMC Gotham and also the newest KODI. Will play 1080p and 4K tests to see how well this device is capable of playing videos and streaming media.
Also will mirror my Ipad mini and my Imac screen to the Android Tv Box witch by the way works perfectly
My package also came with the minix M1 Airmouse witch i will be comparing with the regular IR remote controler.
In my honest opinion the Minix X8 H Plus is the best Android TV Box at the moment of recording making my best gadget purchase in 2014.
+Nader Imani Kohani Thanks for the Feedback Nader. Regarding your questions:
1. Wifi or Ethernet will be the same result as the tablet that you will be
using will be always on Wifi. In my case im using the Tablet on Wifi and
the Minix on ethernet and on The Imac Ethernet and the Minix on Ethernet.
If your Wifi is strong you will have no problems at all.
2. Never tried the Air Parrot app, but for its specs it will work with any
device that has DNLA / Miracast enabled witch the Minix comes with. The
minix also brings a premium app witch is Air Pin Pro so you will be fine.
3. Regarding DTS i didnt test it. It shows on KODI / XBMC DTS but as my
connection is only HDMI i have no way to test that feature.

Can you tell me if this outputs audio via HDMI and optical simultaneously ?
This is imprtant to me as sometimes i watch TV through TV speakers and
sometimes through my amplifier ?
Overall how does this compare with the WD TV Live ?

Great review! Could you please help me with the following:
1. Did you use ethernet or wifi while you were doing the airplay/mirroring
tests?
2. I have macbook pro mid 2010, and it doesnt have airplay mirroring, but
with Air Parrot it should be possible, do you have any idea if the Minix
support airplay mirroring via Air Parrot?
3. Does the Minix play DTS HD, True Dolby HD?
